These iconic Kilns located at Medalta Potteries, Alberta Canada, are incredibly beautiful. From 1912 to 1954, the industrial size kilns were pumping out crockery, jugs & churns, to bathroom ware. With resources of clay and gas at their door, this was the epicenter for North American ceramics. These amazing kilns fired up to 1330 degrees. Now not in use, but kept for their historic value, you can wander through and see how production worked. Visiting Medalta Potteries was amazing, seeing how communities were built on the production of pottery and their use in our daily lives.
